I have wanted a serious table board for ..... years (yep I'm that old). This fulfills an American go player's dream of reaching closer to this ancient game.
I and my weekly opponent are delighted with this board. It provides a lovely click when making a move. It practically glows sitting on the table. It is beautiful in the minimalist tradition, My father was a carpenter that taught me beauty of well-made of woodwork. He would have loved this board. I'll sum it up like this - deep sigh of satisfaction for me.
Minor annoyance: the cover is so tight that it is not easy to put on. I would recommend adding 2 mm to it's width, maybe even only 1 mm. The intent is to make it just a bit easter to slide on . At it's current size it is difficult for one person.
Side comment: I noticed that the Yellow Mountain logo is now The Monkey King. When I finished laughing, I realized it was a wonderful thought. Congratulations to the marketing team!
This board is stunning in person. I bought this as a gift for my spouse, and he loves it! It’s excellent quality.
It is a beautiful set.
While I was very happy with the quick shipping time and overall quality of the board, I was very disappointed to see the grid patte. Was 1/4” off from being centered on the board. Unfortunately very noticeable while sitting in front of the board.
