I received this Mahjong set as a gift, and it is by far one of the most beautiful Mahjong sets I have seen. It is a pleasure to play using these pieces, and the case is a wonderful way to store everything. My only negative is that the handle is a bit rough on my fingers due to the heft of the case, but that is a minor quibble. I love the traditional symbols on the tiles as opposed to the many modern sets with an unusual theme. It is such a wonderful throwback to the classic sets that I saw my grandmother and her friend play with, and I will treasure this for years to come.
I belong to a Mah Jongg group at my church. Everyone in the group has a set, but they always want to play with mine. They all compliment it on the beauty of the box and wooden racks, but most of all, the beautiful ivory-like tiles with traditional markings. I love this Mah Jongg set and am very proud of it. It is definitely worth every penny of the cost.
Nice tiles but I play with blanks and the set only has four. When I inquired about buying two more blanks I was told they don’t sell individual tiles anymore but that they would give me 20% off of an entirely new set. I’m not sure why I would buy an entire new incomplete set but evidently it made sense to them.
