This little bird set is beautiful…love it, and the order arrived in 3 days(ordered on Saturday and received on Monday) thou it stated up to 10 days.
This was my very first set I am a newbie- I searched the web for a while and read people's reviews on different companies when I saw this set the bamboo birdie come on sale. I went for it ! Customer service was prompt and very helpful. When the package came, I was impressed of how well it was packed and how beautiful this it was I am happy.
My only criticism is that you can't see the details of the birds as good as I did online, but it won't stop me from playing. Thank you very much for your help.
It arrived in a well constructed box which gave me high hopes that it was well-made. I was impressed with the box and the tiles in content I've played. I haven'tyet, but I've played with my friends, and they all loved it. My only criticism would be I wish I could see the birds a little better.
After in Dec. gifting the Little Birdie tiles to a fellow Mahjong enthusiast, I treated myself to this set, which is amazing! From the felt-lined compartmentalized wood case featuring two birds to the beautiful wood racks and accompanying pushers (with instructions on how to attach them to the racks as well as how to detach them), gorgeous tiles, and the dice, wind indicator, and scoring chips, this is a forever set that I look forward to enjoying for *years* to come. P.S. Will use Yellow Mountain Imports' dark camphor magnetic racks and pushers with the set as I feel that they better complement the tiles (and will use the racks and pushers that came with the set with my beautiful peacock tiles) and the mat (pictured) upon which I fortunately stumbled. JSR
P.P.S. Having purchased racks with rubber caps that fly off willy nilly, I appreciate both that the rubber caps stay on firmly (though it takes a slight bit of effort to remove the one on each rack onto which the pusher is to be placed) and that the rubber cap need not be in place to operate the pusher, thereby making disassembly easy peasy. As well appreciate the insert that details how the pushers are to be placed in the case. JSR
The set is beautiful BUT too hard to assemble as the black caps don’t come off to allow installation of the pushers!!!!
Why don’t those black caps come off?
AND once the pushers are on, the racks no longer fit in the case.
Do you have softer and larger black caps??
Is there a schematic of how the set fits back in the case?
My family chipped in for this very beautiful set. I **** to admit how disappointed I am with the difficulty to assemble and store the set.
